Ann Arbor’s Sherwin Williams celebrates 70 years of business
Verve Violet. Pickle. Gauntlet Gray. Plum Dandy. There is just something about paint color names that inspires me to want to change the color of the walls in my house. The names evoke images of happy, sunny, well-decorated rooms that encourage fun and family time.
All right, maybe not Pickle, but I’m still feeling motivated to grab a couple of paintbrushes. The long Memorial Day weekend may be just time to try a new color for the family room. And this Saturday looks like the best time to pick it up.
Sherwin Williams is celebrating its 70th anniversary at its Ann Arbor store this month with a one-day sale on Saturday. The sale will feature a 40 percent discount on paint and 30 percent off supplies.
Store Manager Zachary Brown explains that the economic downturn has brought an increase in customers to the store.
“With the struggling housing market we have found the amount of people fixing up their houses has been at a steady increase.” Brown is hoping that this weekend’s one time sale will show the company’s appreciation and gratitude for local loyal customers.
Sherwin Williams is at 5204 Jackson Road, and Saturday hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For a second I got excited thinking Shermin Willaims was an Ann Arbor company and I never knew it. Still the best (and un-P.C.) logo out there.
