Huron Valley Ambulance Paramedic Andy Savage to represent HVA at national Stars of Life event

Paramedic Andy Savage, an employee of Ann Arbor-based Huron Valley Ambulance was among five full-time employeeschosen as this year's Stars of Life. The others were Grounds/Maintenance Technician John Church, Paramedic Ben Forche, Recruitment Coordinator Justin Giersdorf and Administrative Assistant Cindy New. Additionally, Savage, who has worked at HVA for five years, was also chosen to represent HVA from April 29 to May 2 at the American Ambulance Association's annual Stars of Life event in Washington, D.C.

Huron Valley Ambulance Paramedic Andy Savage will represent HVA in Washington, D.C.

The AAA Stars of Life program honors the dedication of ambulance service professionals who represent excellence in every area of the industry. He will spend a day on Capitol Hill educating legislators about the important role of ambulance professionals in prehospital care.

Savage is both a senior paramedic and Mobile Intensive Care medic. He and his family live in Westland.

Savage and the other Stars will be presented with Professional Achievement Awards at HVA's Annual EMS Recognition Awards on Thursday, May 24. The "Stars" were selected by HVA management from a pool of applicants who received "exceeds standards" performance appraisals in the past year.
