Washtenaw Community College is hosting its 15th annual Spring Job Fair and Nonprofit Showcase from 12-4 p.m. March 20 at the Morris Lawrence Building.

Some 50 employers will attend the job fair and meet with prospective employees. Participating employers include DFCU Financial, Arbor Hospice, Lowe's, Office Max, Quicken Loans, the University of Michigan and UPS.

Another 20 nonprofit groups will meet with attendees to discuss their services. The event s free and open to the public.

David Wildfong, a student adviser in WCC’s Employment Services Center, said in a statement that job seekers are advised to dress professionally, bring resumes and craft an introduction speech.

About 650 people attended the spring job fair in 2011.

“Job fairs are excellent opportunities to meet face to face with employers and have the chance to network with them," Wildfong said. "This face-to-face contact can be extremely effective in the job search process.”
