Zingerman's lands candy deal with organic supermarket chain
Zingerman's Candy Manufactory, a division of Ann Arbor-based Zingerman's, landed a deal to sell products in a organic food supermarket chain that has an extensive footprint in the South.

Zingerman's Zzang bars will be sold at Earth Fare stores.

"It’s an upscale market and their focus is, of course, natural artisan products," said Ellen Faber, wholesale candy manager for Zingerman's Candy Manufactory. "And they have a health focus."
Earth Fare will sell Zingerman's peanut brittle and Zzang! candy bars, which are made of nougat, peanuts and caramel and dipped in chocolate.
The deal comes more than two years after Zingerman's Community of Businesses added Zingerman's Candy Manufactory as one of its affiliates.
The business, which operates a manufacturing complex on Plaza Drive in Pittsfield Township, recently added a packaging worker and now has four employees, up from two when it was officially formed.

"Earth Fare will sell Zingerman's peanut brittle and Zzang! candy bars, which are made of nougat, peanuts and caramel and dipped in chocolate." That's impossible! Everyone knows candy bars must have a bunch of extra garbage in them. PS. What *is* nougat?
