Arts Alliance receives $10,000 grant
The MASCO Corporation Foundation recently awarded a $10,000 grant to The Arts Alliance in support of its local efforts with arts and education, serving as a community resource and for its Creative Connections networking programs. "We are very pleased to receive this important vote of confidence and generous funding from the MASCO Corporation Foundation. With this contribution, MASCO continues to add its voice to many other organizations and individuals who support the Arts Alliance to express the importance of arts and culture in our community," said Susan Froelich, Arts Alliance president, in a press release. "We look forward to all that can be achieved in the year ahead with this important support."
The funded initiatives will move three priority recommendations of the Cultural Plan, a county-wide effort with feedback from almost 5,000 community members, forward: (1) To make arts and culture an integral part of K-12 education throughout Washtenaw County; (2) to strengthen the Arts Alliance; and (3) to provide services that support the growth of the creative economy. The full Cultural Plan can be found at: http://bit.ly/culturalplan Masco Foundation's support will allow the Arts Alliance to follow up on a Feasibility Study for Expanding Arts Education Programming in the Washtenaw County Public Schools, support a3arts.org and the cultural newsletter, and strengthen arts and cultural networking offerings.
