MUSIC

Head to AnnArbor.com’s “Patio Concert Series” on Friday for some great music. Noon. Every Friday through Sept. 9, catch great local talent outside the AnnArbor.com Community Space. This week, see Lisa Pappas & Michael Weiss. From early ballads of the Appalachians to down-home Americana tunes of today, come hear a unique, chronological collection of folk songs. Free. On the patio at 301 E. Liberty St., downtown Ann Arbor.

FESTIVAL

It’s here! “Top of the Park” returns Friday night to bring top-notch entertainment (more than usual, anyway) to Ann Arbor. 5 to 11 p.m. There will be extreme face painting, a rock climbing wall, music and more. The “Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival MiniFest” returns to the Kerrytown Concert House. Friday through Sunday, 8 p.m. This year’s theme is “Music of the Spheres” and includes chamber works both earthly and heavenly. Artists appearing include James Tocco, Paul Katz, Pei-Shan Lee and many more. $30 for seats in rows 1-2, $20 for rows 3-5, and $15 for general admission. THEATER

Dave Roman will present “Avatar: The Last Puppetbender” live at the Ann Arbor District Library on Friday. 8 to 9 p.m. Roman and Kevin Coppa will entertain the audience with puppets from this fan favorite, showing examples of the work and production involved in the making of these web shorts. They will show a sneak peek of "Avatar-The Lost Adventures" from Dark Horse Comics, and MC a live comics read-through with audience participation. For adults and teens grades 4 and up. Free. FESTIVAL

Head to Wheeler Park on Saturday for the annual “Juneteenth Celebration of Freedom.” Noon to 6 p.m. Juneteenth celebrates the anniversary of the first reading in Texas of the Emancipation Proclamation on June 19, 1865. This is a family-friendly event with live entertainment and food available. Free. Wheeler Park is at North Fourth Avenue and Depot Street, Ann Arbor. 734-761-9084.

GAMING

“Gamers for Giving” will raise money for Gamers Outreach, a charity that creates portable video game carts for kids at children’s hospitals. Saturday. Check in and warm up begin at 10 a.m. Event begins at noon. Two-person Halo: Reach and four-person Call of Duty: Black Ops teams compete in video game tournaments. There will also be a one-on-one Starcraft 2 competition and a 100-person console LAN party. $50/Halo teams, $100/Call of Duty teams, $25/Starcraft and $15/LAN party.
