By AnnArbor.com Staff
Bob Seger, the iconic rocker who grew up in Ann Arbor, has set a deadline of Sept. 24 to release an album of new material, according to Rolling Stone.
In an interview with AnnArbor.com last year, Seger said he planned to spend the first part of this year writing with an eye to a fall release.
Seger also told Rolling Stone he wanted to attend the recent Grammy Awards ceremony largely to see Adele sing.

Bob needs to release his early material once again. He has 3 albums and many early singles that have never been released in the CD format and several others that are out of print and have been unavailable for many years. I can't think of another major artist that has yet to release in a digital format so many of their formative recordings. I can only assume he does not feel good about them. This is admirable in some ways because he could easily cash in. Perhaps the Chevy commercial that ran for so long provided enough royalties that he is unconcerned about maximizing return on his old catalogue. Throw your fans a bone, Bob.
