Chelsea Area Players Youth Theater will present "Seussical! Jr.", by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, on Friday and Saturday, March 23-24, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, March 25 at 3 p.m., at the Washington Street Education Center Auditorium, 500 Washington Street, Chelsea, MI 48118

Based on the books by Dr. Seuss, the show focuses on Horton the Elephant, who finds himself faced with a double challenge—not only must he protect his tiny friend Jojo and all the invisible Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him, as she is the only one who recognizes "his kind and his powerful heart." Boasting an enormous cast of young performers from Chelsea and the surrounding area, it is a wonderful show for the entire family to enjoy. "Seussical! Jr." is directed by Brian Myers, and produced by Jeff Boyer.

Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door; for more information, visit http://chelseaareaplayers.org.
