U-M grad and "Glee" star Darren Criss appears in a new film called "Imogene" - starring Kristen Wiig, Natasha Lyonne, Annette Bening and Matt Dillon - that is set to premiere at this September's Toronto International Film Festival; the fest's schedule will be announced August 21.

According to imdb.com, "Imogene" is about a playwright (Wiig) who "stages a suicide in an attempt to win back her ex, only to wind up in the custody of her gambling-addict mother," played by Bening.

Criss, while talking about the film during a concert performance (see clip below), said his "Imogene" character is a kid who's in a fake boy band comedy show, and vulture.com reported last fall that Criss plays a young love interest for Wiig in the film.

"Imogene" is purported to be a dark comedy, following on the heels of Wiig's smash 2011 hit, "Bridesmaids," which grossed nearly $300 million worldwide.

You can watch Criss talk briefly about "Imogene" in this clip.
