Amy Speace brings Decembersongs back to The Ark on Tuesday.

One nice addition to the holiday music calendar last year was the touring show Decembersongs, which brought four folk/country singer-songwriters to The Ark for a mix of new and traditional songs on a seasonal theme.

The tour, and an album that went with it, went well enough that it's being reprised this year, returning to The Ark on Tuesday, Dec. 13.

The format is the same: four solo performers on stage together, taking turns and/or collaborating on songs of the season

Amy Speace, a regular Ark visitor as a solo artist, is the brains behind the idea, and she returns for this year's show—as do the other participants from last year, Dan Navarro (of the team Lowen & Navarro), Jon Vezner (who wrote "Where've You Been" for his wife, Kathy Mattea) and Sally Barris (who wrote John Michael Montgomery's "My Christmas Wish").

The show is 8 p.m. Tuesday at The Ark, 316 S. Main St. Tickets ($20) are available from The Ark box office (with no service charge); Michigan Union Ticket Office, 530 S. State St.; Herb David Guitar Studio, 302 E. Liberty St.; or online from the Michigan Union Ticket Office.
