Flight Nights. 5-8:30 p.m. Cranbrook Whole Foods, 990 W. Eisenhower Parkway, Ann Arbor, at the wine bar. Each Thursday evening, experts lead an exploration of wine, cheese and appetizers. All You Can Eat Fish, Chicken, and Rib Dinner. 5-8 p.m. Livingston, 6060 E. M-36, Hamburg. Dinner Includes: Barbecued ribs, barbecued chicken, oven fried chicken, fish, macaroni and cheese, french fries, vegetable, coleslaw, rolls and butter, homemade desserts, coffee, lemonade and iced tea. Chef's Table. 7-10 p.m. Ann Arbor Cooks, 5060 Jackson Road, Ann Arbor. Instead of making your usual weekend restaurant reservations, join us for a different experience — an interactive evening where we do the cooking right in front of you with the area's finest local ingredients, sourced from our local farms and markets. You get to relax, socialize with fellow foodies, and watch as we prepare and serve your entire meal. Throughout the evening you will be at arm’s length of the chef and interaction is highly encouraged. You will receive a recipe packet to take home with you detailing the evening's entire menu. Country Style Breakfast. 8:30-11 a.m. St. Mary's Catholic Parish, 10601 Dexter Pinckney Road, Pinckney. St. Mary’s Men’s Club in Pinckney is sponsoring its monthly Country Style Breakfast at the Parish. We have the best menu in the area which includes: fried or scrambled eggs, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, French toast, pancakes, quiche, ham, pork sausage and, of course, our renowned waffle station. Monday
Basic Knife Skills. 1-4 p.m. Ann Arbor Cooks, 5060 Jackson Road, Ann Arbor. Sharpen your cutlery and your knife skills. This hands-on class will cover how to sharpen and care for your knives, as well as proper use. In-class exercises will include practice of the fundamental cuts for vegetables and fruit - mince, dice, brunoise, battonet, julienne, etc. - as well as breaking down a whole chicken. $70. Milan Senior Nutrition Program. 11:45 a.m. Milan Senior & Community Activity Center, 45 Neckel Court, Milan. In partnership with the Washtenaw County Senior Nutrition Program, they offer a nutritionally balanced meal three afternoons a week: Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. There is a suggested donation of $2.50 for anyone who is 60 years or older and a fee of $5 for anyone under the age of 60. They do ask for 48 hour advanced reservations. Call or stop by the office.

Tuesday
DIY Danish. 6-10 p.m. Ann Arbor Cooks, 5060 Jackson Road, Ann Arbor. There is really nothing better than tying on an apron, making a floury mess, and filling your kitchen with the warm buttery smells of homemade Danish. We will make Danish dough from scratch and learn all of the different tips and techniques required to create perfect pastries - all while sharing stories and laughs over a glass of wine. Light complementary nibbles will be served to sustain you while you're waiting for all of your scrumptious Danish to come out of the oven in this full participation class. Eat at the Tower Inn Cafe Fundraiser. 5-7 p.m. Tower Inn Cafe, 701 W. Cross St., Ypsilanti. Besides a great meal, there will be an appearance by "Elvis", prize drawings and the opportunity to help the Ypsilanti Public Schools Foundation, its student scholarships and teacher mini-grants. Fourth semi-annual A2Y Chamber Grub Crawl. 6-9 p.m. Throughout Ypsilanti's downtown and the historic Depot Town district. Guests will arrive between 5:30-6 p.m. at their first assigned location to receive a T-shirt. The T-shirt will serve as their ticket at each of the restaurants. Guests can attend each of the restaurants once anytime between 6 & 9 p.m. on May 8 to sample one or more of their specialties. Golden Limousine International will be providing a trolley along the route of the Grub Crawl. Restaurants Include: Aubree's Pizzeria & Grill, Cafe Ollie, Corner Brewery, Haab's, Harvest Kitchen, Red Rock BBQ, Sidetrack Bar & Grill, The Wurst Bar and the Ypsilanti Food Cooperative. $20 for Adults; $5 for Children under 12. 734-214-0105

Food Trends: What's Up with These New Cuts of Beef?. 6:30-9:30 p.m. Ann Arbor Cooks, 5060 Jackson Road, Ann Arbor. Hanger steak, flap steak, Denver steak, ranch steak, braison, merlot cuts. Teres major? Where do they come from and why are they better? In this full participation class, we will roll up our sleeves and unhinge our jaws as we get to the meat of the matter. We will demystify these cuts and show the right techniques to prepare them.
