New York musician Jared Saltiel returning home for show at Woodruff's

Saltiel is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. The EP, "Caught Beneath The Wheel," features four songs and is available for download; or it can be streamed online at Saltiel's website. The first track on the EP is available as a free download.
Meanwhile, Saltiel has also released his first video, "The Problem," a song about family strife that has a lot of family ties in the video. Saltiel's brother, Jason Saltiel, directed the video, and their parents were cast to act in it. (The teen protagonist is played by Tobias Campbell.)
In a press release, the video is described as exploring "the relationship between a depressed teenager and his emotionally remote parents, contrasting the natural world with a surreal artificial reality ... After a startling suicide attempt, the 15-year-old protagonist (Tobias Campbell) descends into a nightmarish vision—like Alice chasing the white rabbit, the boy follows his mother from room to room, as the house is gradually overtaken by eerie plants. Finally, he comes to a beautiful corridor of trees, where he confronts “the problem” and its heartbreaking consequences."
For more information, see Saltiel's website or his Facebook page.
Jared Saltiel plays Woodruff's, 36 E. Cross St. in Ypsilanti, Saturday, Dec. 3, on a bill that also includes Pistolbrides and Gun Lake. Doors open at 9 p.m.; music starts at 10 p.m. Cover: $5.
