We are happy to have Lauren Willig, historical romance author at Nicola’s Books at 7 p.m. on Tuesday for a discussion and signing of her new novel ‘The Mischief of the Mistletoe’. Laura is a huge fan favorite of Nicola's Books.

Willig’s ‘Pink Carnation’ series started with ‘The Secret History of the Pink Carnation’ where the character of Eloise is introduced as she searches for the story of the Pink Carnation, the most elusive spy of his time. In her seventh book in the series the Pink Carnation is back just in time for the Yuletide season.

Willig is a Yale graduate where she “read lots of Shakespeare, wrote sonnet sequences when she was supposed to be doing her science requirement, and lived in a Gothic fortress complete with leaded windows and gargoyles.” She then went to Harvard for her graduate studies, first in English history, and then she went on to law school where all the time she was writing the first novels of the The Pink Carnation series. After Willig practiced law for a while she decided that she would rather be a writer than be a lawyer and we are happy that she did, too.
