Cast members strike a disco pose in "Menopause the Musical."

Looking to plan a girls’ (of a certain age) night out in the near future?

Here’s an idea: the international hit show “Menopause The Musical” is returning to the Michigan Theater for two performances, October 29-30 at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000. Group discounts of 10-plus are available by calling 888-686-8587 #4.

Set in a department store, the musical focuses on four women with seemingly nothing in common meet at a department store lingerie sale and make fun of their woeful hot flashes, forgetfulness, mood swings, wrinkles, night sweats and chocolate binges.

The show’s four-member cast includes Patti Gardner, Megan Cavanagh, Sandy Benton, and Sandy DeWoody - who was also in the cast (as the Iowa housewife) when the show last came to Ann Arbor in 2009. Check out my preview of that 2009 "Menopause" tour stop, with quotes from DeWoody, as well as my review of the production, too.

If this is as funny as the version we saw at the Gem Theater in Detroit a few years ago it will be hillareous. We laughed until our sides hurt. If we weren't busy those nights we would go again.
