State Theatre celebrating 70th anniversary with discount and cupcakes

On Sunday, March 18, the State Theatre, at 233 S. State, will be celebrate its 70th anniversary by way of special pricing and free cupcakes for patrons.

Moviegoers will be charged the matinee price, $7, all day for all movies on Sunday at the State, and Just Baked will provide customers with cupcakes.

“Cyrus” filmmakers Jay and Mark Duplass’ newest work, “Jeff, Who Lives at Home,” starring Ed Helms and Jason Segel, opens this weekend and will be on the State’s schedule. The theater also plans to hold over "The Artist" and "Shame," both of which are currently playing there.
