Three celebrity weddings; Lohan goes from jail to rehab; Nathan Lane on "Modern Family"; and more

Marc Mezvinsky and Chelsea Clinton, who married on Saturday.
And while a media frenzy focused on Clinton’s wedding, another high profile wedding, with a guest list that included Bono and Queen Latifah, happened this past weekend: Alicia Keys, who recently confirmed she was pregnant, married producer Swizz Beatz in Corsica.
Lastly, former “Dawson’s Creek” star James Van Der Beek just got married, too, to pregnant girlfriend Kimberly Brook - on the heels of his divorce from his wife of six years, Heather McComb. Sounds like a sweeps-week stunt to me.
MOVIES
* Chris Nolan’s “Inception” impressively remained king of the box office for a third straight week (a rarity in recent years), while the Steve Carrell/Paul Rudd comedy “Dinner for Shmucks” scored second in the rankings, and Angelina Jolie’s thriller “Salt” earned a third place finish.
* Lindsay Lohan, after serving 13 days of a 90 day jail sentence for breaking parole, is now off to re-hab. I wonder if she’ll say, “No, no, no.”
TELEVISION

* Producers of the new Michael Imperioli cop drama “Detroit 1-8-7” will reportedly strive to depict some positive aspects of the city, according to the Detroit Free Press; and the Detroit News noted some minor adjustments and changes being made to the show, after city leaders voiced concern about how the show might affect Detroit’s image.
* A Grand Blanc couple’s appearance on the reality TV series “Wife Swap” will air this Friday night, and since people have been asking them about it for months, the “carefree” family couldn’t be happier.
* The “American Idol” team seems to be in disarray after Ellen DeGeneres’ surprise, self-induced exit from the judges table last week. Fox sources say there will be no announcements about the show during the network’s portion of the Television Critics Association press tour on Monday. That means no official announcement regarding Jennifer Lopez’s rumored deal, which may still be in negotiations.
Meanwhile, one television critic is offering suggestions on how to make "Idol" better in this time of transition and change.

* Just when you thought it was safe to watch TV again
Those currently enjoying the 23rd edition of “Shark Week” on the Discovery Channel may be interested in Time Magazine’s brief history of the “event.” The article isn’t comprehensive, but it’s a little something you can sink your teeth into.
* Warren, Michigan recently made a brief appearance on “The Colbert Report,” and now, Stephen Colbert has linked the Kalamazoo River’s oil spill to the BP's in the Gulf of Mexico, noting that the oil “has achieved whack-a-mole technology.” Here's the clip:

BOOKS
* Today, unemployed antiques dealer Raymond Scott was sentenced by a British court to eight years in prison, after being found guilty of smuggling a First Folio of Shakespeare into the United States. Scott tried to sell the stolen Folio to the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington.
How's that line go? Neither a borrower nor a smuggler be?
