Woodruff's, the new bar and music venue in Ypsilanti's Depot Town, has a new weekly attraction: an acoustic open-mic session led by local music stalwart Dave Boutette.

The session runs every Tuesday from 7-10 p.m. Signup takes place just after 7 p.m.

Boutette writes in an email, "The open mic is for acoustic acts only. There is ample stage room, a great sound system, and a very friendly crowd."

Boutette is a well-known figure on the local music scene. His own music tends to combine a variety of rootsy styles, and his original songs tend to exhibit a Michigan/Midwestern flavor.

Woodruff's Bar is located at 36 E. Cross St. in Ypsilanti. For more information on all the bar's activities, see its website.
