Ypsilanti's Jason Biehl is currently involved in an international amateur cartoonist contest, wherein contestants submit 10 weeks' worth of material. Each week, a new strip is posted for each contestant, and the public is invited to vote for its favorites; on Sunday, judges announce which contestants advance to the next week.

The contest started with 156 entries, and now, in week 7, Biehl is one of 56 contestants remaining, having scored in the top 15 each week.
