A look at Hidden Lake Gardens in the Irish Hills
Michigan State University's Hidden Lake Gardens is profiled in a column by Marianne Rzepka in the Ann Arbor Chronicle.
Hidden Lake Gardens is in Tipton in the Irish Hills, which is about 44 miles from Ann Arbor if you take US-23 south to M-50 west. The property is preserved and maintained by MSU and is used for educational purposes as well as public tours and events, such as weddings. It encompasses nearly 800 acres of land.
In her Seeds & Stems column, Rzepka writes about guided tour she recently took of the garden and the various collections of plants and trees, including the hosta garden and dwarf and rare conifer trees.
