Fire displaces 4 in Ypsilanti

By Lee Higgins

Four people were displaced by a fire Monday afternoon at a home in the 100 block of Miles Street, Ypsilanti fire officials said.

No one was injured in the blaze that broke out at 1:22 p.m. in a loft area.

The cause is under investigation, but there's no reason to believe it's suspicious, Fire Capt. Max Anthouard said.

About 20 firefighters, including those from Ypsilanti Township, Pittsfield Township and Ann Arbor responded and had the fire under control in about an hour.

Damage was estimated at $45,000. The Red Cross was assisting those displaced.
