Ann Arbor Police search for woman missing since Friday

By Heidi Fenton

Ann Arbor Police are asking the public for help in finding a 23-year-old woman who has been missing since Friday.

Lauren Lysbeth Dondero was last seen in her vehicle, a 2003 blue Honda Accord with the Michigan license plate of BPB-5032.

Police said Dondero's family and friends have had no contact with her since last week.

An officer said today the disappearance has not been called suspicious, but police are concerned because Dondero has not been seen in several days.

Detective Bill Stanford said the woman is a local resident, but is not a student. Police have been told she has emotional issues and authorities do not believe there is a connection to weekend assaults reported near the University of Michigan's central campus, he said.

Dondero is described as a white woman, 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Ann Arbor Police Detective Stanford at (734) 323-2628 or the police tip line at (734) 794-6939.

Anyone who turns up missing should be deemed suspicious unless there is cause to think otherwise. I hope she turns up unharmed and healthy for the wear. Good luck to the family.

"Police said Dondero's family and friends have had no contact with her since last week.... An officer said today the disappearance has not been called suspicious, but police are concerned because Dondero has not been seen in several days." If her family and friends say no contact is unusual then I urge the police to consider this suspicious.

suspicious ought to be the default setting when a young woman seems to "disappear" in my opinion.
