Brrr: Ann Arbor area wakes to single-digit wind chills, temperatures in the teens

The post holiday workweek is getting off to a cold start in the Ann Arbor area today. The National Weather Service says wind-chill values could drop as low as 0 with temperatures in the teens this morning before climbing into the 20s later in the day under partly sunny skies.

Ann Arbor residents will want to don a warm coat and hat or hood before venturing out this morning.

At 7:30 a.m., the temperature was 16 degrees in Ann Arbor with a wind-chill factor of 3 degrees. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph today, the weather service said.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 18. Southwest winds will be between 6 and 11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Temperatures will moderate later in the week with highs in the 30s Wednesday and Thursday and in the 40s Friday. Wednesday morning will bring a 30 percent chance of snow.

The side streets on the West side are ice covered and dangerous, be careful driving. Must be the city is saving money by not clearing them.
