I've been very disappointed with the lack of complete streets, in spite of the state legislation. All of the new road projects I've seen in Ypsi do not accommodate bicyclists, or do so in such a way as to render them useless. For instance, Forest between EMU and River St. has bike lanes, but they disappear at every intersection, which is when bicyclists need them most. E. Cross has a wide parking lane on one side of the road, but no bike lanes. W. Cross in front of EMU has received pedestrian improvements, but nothing was done to address the issue of cars parking in the bike lane. Dixboro was resurfaced recently, but there's still no place for bicyclists to ride safely. Too bad I didn't see this article until too late. Hopefully they got some input that will lead to better planning in the area.
