No raises for Sylvan Township officials, staff

Salaries for Sylvan Township officials will remain unchanged for another year.

In a unanimous vote Tuesday night, the township board approved $26,300 for the supervisor’s position and $24,100 for the clerk’s position and the treasurer’s position.

Trustees are paid $215 per month or $2,580 for the year.

The township assessor is paid $28,800 per year, while the zoning inspector receives $18.75 per hour. The receptionist makes $15 per hour.

The chairmen of the Zoning Board of Appeals and Planning Commission receive $70 per meeting, while board members receive $60 per meeting. People serving on the township’s board of review receive $100 per day or $65 for a half day.

Congratulations to the Sylvan Township Board of Trustees. As an aside, this year the York Township Board of Trustees is once again holding salaries and wages constant for the 6th time in 7 years.
