Police seek hit-and-run semi truck driver

By Cindy Heflin

Washtenaw County sheriff’s deputies are looking for the driver of a semi tractor-trailer rig who is suspected of leaving the scene of a crash.

Police sent out a community alert message at 3:15 p.m. advising of the crash near Jackson and Lima Center roads east of Chelsea. The white truck has heavy damage to the right side, the message said, and was last seen traveling west on Jackson Road after the crash.

Initial reports indicated a pole had been struck in the area.

A separate message sent out by the Chelsea Police Department said cable was out in the city and some phone service was affected. It was not immediately clear if the outage was related to the crash.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call 734-973-4391.

I hope the Pole is ok, Depending on what his load was and what part of the vehicle hit the pole the truck driver might not of even known that she hit the pole.

What color and make is the truck? Was it pulling any specific type of trailer? Any identifiable markings?
