Cellphone captures video of women beating man in Ann Arbor
Previous coverage: Fight weekend: Ann Arbor police report multiple people hospitalized after weekend assaults
A witness captured cellphone video of women beating a man in an alley early Saturday morning, television station WJBK reported.
Elliott Fink told the station he was hanging out in an apartment with friends when the fight broke out.
Two women were arrested after beating a man with a bottle, bucket, snow shovel and broom in the 1100 block of Willard Street about 3 a.m. Saturday, Ann Arbor police told AnnArbor.com Monday. The man was knocked to the ground and suffered minor head injuries.
A 24-year-old woman and 26-year-old woman, both from Ypsilanti, were arrested trying to flee in a Ford Escape.

The beating at the frat house may not have been a robbery, it may have been the SHARP"S, (skin heads against racial pregidous) , but class war is their intentions. They go out and look for rich frat boys to pound on. These guys are very well trained to maximize their violent ability. They hate the rich, and believe A2 has the spoiled rich kids, and so do the math. The police should start with them in mind.

With all the poor coming to A2 looking for larger edge to steal from the students is not a new thing. Now because of the people who are sick of politics, and being broke and jobless, the criminal element is going to be a huge thing this year. so be aware of this, if the students are throwing a party then you should have some one who is going to stay sober and check U ID's. Good Luck

Just remember guys under no circumstance should you ever hit a woman, even if they are beating you down and causing you physical injury you are not to defend yourself!

I had to create an account just to reply to this. You have GOT to be kidding Hmm. This man was hit with a shovel, glass bottles, etc. Thankfully the dog could care less about what was going on, otherwise it could have been a deadly weapon as well. I hope the court hurts them worse than he could have (and I know he could have), because in the long run, that will have the most effect. Women should never think that they can get away with hurting a man because men "are not to defend [themselves]!" This is why women are looked at as less than men. This mentality. Then women complain that they are not seen or treated as equals. Hmm, Hmm!

Sorry, but if a women hits me they will get it back, but twice as bad.if five women are hitting me then I have the right to commit great bodily harm, and may cause death. If your attacked by more then one person, then it's gang violence and is a federal offence. You have the right to defend yourself and family, even if it causes death. I'm a crisis counselor, and have wittinessed man abuse several times by the female partner, and they have been charged with the same charges as reversed. I do know what your talking about, but I will defend myself whether or not if it's a gang or just one women. The best way to avoid it is to not place yourself in that situation.

All that booze sitting on the porch. I assume that the frat house consists of all men over 21? Booze begets violence and people out of control. But this is the norm now, right?

"were arrested trying to flee in a Ford Escape." Yet another car that does not live up to its name. Still, they should sue Ford.

when i used to work bars on South University st. i would get out of work 3-4 am and there would still be kids drunk in the streets screaming, car alarms going off, horns honking, loud music, people fighting. i would drive 20min. to my place in saline which is a block from their "downtown" and it was peaceful. it was nice to be able to not worry about my car being stolen, vandalized, or even puked on.

We are moving from what was a nice townhouse area unitl Campus Management took it over. Now we put up with not being able to use the pool due to the parties that are taking place and firecrackers until 4am and students and their guest parking in our driveway. Should I mention the parties that have erupted into fights with the police being called.

Right, and all other mind altering drugs have to have a prescription, and they are making some of them almost impossible find. Alcohol on the other hand is the worst drug of them all, and effects every cell in your body, and kills more people than cancer, or completely ruin's the body, and make's you spiritually bankrupt, is excepted by society. Cannabis, is a natural substance, so that means that God made it, and is exactly the opposite of alcohol, if used correctly. It's the pharmaceutical corporations that want cannabis illegal because one can't copy-rite plants. Textiles, paper, and alcohol companies lobby against it too, and also pay millions to lobby against it's legalization. These things have nothing to do with harm it may cause citizens, but just the financial harm it may cause these industries. Good day.

Yeah it didn't work and we got rid of it because it was the sensible thing to do. So following that example we should continue the 75 year War on Cannabis because it's been working so well and crime and violence have really fallen off because of it.

This is a sad start to a new school year at the UofM. While most of this was probably not related to the UofM, the weekend statistics for incidents are not good. The video will probably go viral on YouTube and have an impact on how people think about Ann Arbor. I wonder if we have the right level of policing to keep Ann Arbor safe?

Who knows, but the police can't babysit everyone either-way. People come from different cultures and backgrounds, and have no idea of how they should act in a violent situation. You can't blame the police for violent behavior. College is a place for learning and one would hope these students/citizens can act more mature. So, my comment for you is, Grow Up and act like adults. Only children needs to be monitored.
