Deputies: Man at home when intruder breaks in
A 70-year-old man was at his Ypsilanti Township home early Sunday when someone attempted to break into the house, according to Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
Officials said police were dispatched at about 2:30 a.m. to the 1800 block of Outer Lane for a report of a home invasion. The man called police immediately after hearing the intruder, who had left the area by the time deputies arrived on scene.
Nothing was reported stolen, and a description of the intruder was not available on Monday afternoon.
Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office anonymous tip line at 734-973-7711.

You're assuming guilt, Spike, but I think the old man is very low risk as a serial offender and is unlikely to assault anyone.

You make it sound like the oldtimer is the one who broke in.He wasn't the offender the one who was able to run away was. If I woke at the sound of someone in my house he would be GUILTY until he proves his intentions.

Too bad the old man didn't put this one in the ground. There will be more home invasions and more crimes until he is caught and imprisoned at great cost -- hopefully before he kills or assaults an innocent victim.
