Testimony reveals husband's affair before mentally ill wife was killed
Testimony Monday revealed that Ruth Pyne's husband was having an affair and considering divorce in the months before the mentally ill woman was killed, the Detroit Free Press reported.
Jeffrey Pyne, a 22-year-old former University of Michigan student, is charged in the May 2011 bludgeoning of his mother. Police allege Pyne killed his mother in the family’s Highland Township home after becoming angry about her mental illness.
The former girlfriend of Jeffrey Pyne's father testified that Bernard Pyne was contemplating divorce because his wife would not take her medication to control her bipolar disorder or schizophrenia, the report said.
Jeffrey Pyne's former girlfriend also testified Monday that the mother was hoarding knives in her headboard and that Jeffrey was emotional about his mother, the Free Press said.
Pyne, a former high school valedictorian at West Highland Christian Academy, has maintained his innocence.

RELATIONSHIP FAILURE: The term 'mental health' deals with the ability to develop harmonious social relationships. The victim described in this story had a mental health problem called the 'bipolar' disorder. Unfortunately, she was not alone. It is my impression that there is a fundamental problem with our health care systems which refuse to define the term man and hence fail to promote the well-being of man. The victim's bipolar disorder demands that all of her social relations require support and therapy to sustain a harmonious relationship with her. If they had received therapy, this young college student would not have reacted with anger and his father would have expressed sympathy and tolerance in his behavior.

Don't blame him. Sounds like the wife was an absolutely horrible person to be around. Religious fanatic, violently abusive, belligerent - first class fruitcake.

I would be very careful about drawing conclusions about a real and vital human being from either the highly manipulative arguements in an adversarial legal proceeding OR from from this blog - which doesn't even really edit for factual acuracy (or even spelling or grammar).
