Man accused of hitting Rick's employee with beer bottle to return to court
The man accused of hitting a Rick’s American Cafe employee in the head with a beer bottle in September will return to court at the end of the month.
Jason McSherry, of Kalamazoo, faces one charge each of assault with a dangerous weapon, aggravated assault and disorderly conduct for the Sept. 9 incident at the bar on Church Street. He will be back in front of Washtenaw County Trial Court Judge Donald Shelton for a final pretrial hearing at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 31.
McSherry, who was 25 when charged, was asked to leave the bar by a 23-year-old employee after he pushed someone on the dance floor. The employee started to walk away and McSherry struck him in the back of the head with a beer bottle, according to police.
The employee suffered cuts to the back of his head and had to be transported to the University of Michigan Hospital by the Huron Valley Ambulance service, according to police.
McSherry is free on a personal recognizance bond.

Ann Arbor has a history of cocky-a$$ed bouncers/staff, so now that the employee's pride got stomped, the law gets involved. Had more employees helped, it would never have happened, and the accused would've been beaten to a pulp in the alleyway.. end of story. There's more to this.

This man has serious problems. I hope he gets more punishment than a slap on the wrist.
