Multiple shots fired at man in Ypsilanti Township Wednesday night, deputies say

By Lee Higgins

Two Ypsilanti Township men were arrested Wednesday night after Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies say one of them shot at a man after an argument at the Dairy Mart on Textile Road in the township.

No one was injured in the 11:52 p.m. incident, a sheriff's department media summary said.

A 21-year-old man who investigators say fired the shots from a car and an 18-year-old man who deputies say was driving were arrested and taken to the Washtenaw County Jail, the summary said. Deputies say the two men and victim got into an argument at the store before the victim got into his car and left.

The men followed in a car, and deputies say the 21-year-old man fired several shots at the victim's car on McCartney Avenue. The victim continued driving and was shot at again on Tyler Road, the summary said. The victim's car was not hit, deputies said.

Charges are pending. Sheriff's department spokesman Sgt. Dave Archer could not immediately be reached for comment this morning.

This story does not surprise me, not even a little bit. Often there are more people outside than inside. One can see transactions going on from the road. Great Job, WCSD!!

Thats what happens when people threaten other people for no good reason. But the down part is, getting caught and going to jail. Its actually an 18 year female that was driving.

Dairy Mart(s) in Ypsi or Ypsi Township = criminal behavior! Why is this? Why dont 7-11s or Circle Ks have the same bad reps (not that crimes dont happen there too but on average there are fewer)

They don't know how to spell. They think the sign says drug mart.

While it's frustrating to have received the report today that yet another shooting occurred as a result of an argument (and no value for life), but how relieving it was to hear that Deputies Krings and Roy employed their investigative skills, figured out who the driver and shooter were, and found and arrested them both! Good job guys!

Interesting question... Who's more dangerous? An 18 year old chasing you in a 2 plus ton battering ram or A 21 year old firing a gun? Better ban them both!

What could the argument have been about that was worth going to prison for? Did the victim say something like your grandma wears combat boots, i know that would do it for me. What would somebody have to say to you, that you'd be willing to spend the rest of your life in prison for?

Yes. I don't know what's going on in Ypsi, but It seems like I'm hearing about a shooting or break in everyday.
