Pittsfield Township police are investigating an armed robbery at the Bank Of America on East Michigan Avenue and are looking for one suspect and a man who waited in the getaway car.
Deputy Police Chief Gordy Schick confirmed a robbery occurred at 12:18 p.m. Tuesday. The bank is at 6983 E. Michigan Ave.

Police said a lone suspect entered the bank and showed a handgun. He took cash from two employees and left the area, getting into a silver Malibu in which another man was waiting.
Police have searched the area but have not been able to locate the men.
The robber is described as a black man, 20-30 years old, 5-feet-9 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing latex gloves, black jeans, a gold or yellow hooded sweatshirt with writing on the front and a bandana covering his face below his eyes. The bandana was described as blue with a white design.
He carried a black bag and a dark colored hand gun. Police said he left with the other man in a newer model silver Chevrolet Malibu.
Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call 911 if in Pittsfield Township or use the police department’s general line at 734-822-4911.

No matter how many of these AA crime stories I read, seems like 90% of the time the description of the perp is the same. One person crime wave?

Someone drove the get-away car, so at least a 2 person crime wave.

They just started having a guard outside last week. I even commented to the tellers that it seemed like a good thing, since they are always short staffed. The guard was just standing outside the door, I wonder why nobody was posted this day ?

No idea of the plate number on this late-model, silver Malibu? BTW, really nice ad placement for Bill Crispin Chevy next to the article where Chevy was getaway car. Brilliant.

This is becoming a common occurrence in this area, unfortunately. Put armed security guards in bank lobbies and robberies will end.

I can see it now...A rent-a-cop having a shoot out with the robber in the lobby. And customers are dodging bullets.

that was pretty prevelant (armed guards) out east back in the 90's. The bad guys got around it by walking in and shooting the guard right off the bat. There were several in Norfolk VA that way.
