Michigan license plate stolen from car in WCC parking lot, replaced with Ohio plate
A motorist reported the Michigan license plate on his or her vehicle had been stolen and replaced with an Ohio license plate while parked Monday at Washtenaw Community College.
According to the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office, the motorist was preparing to leave campus, 4200 E. Huron River Drive, when they noticed the license plates had been switched.
Police believe the theft of the Michigan plate, and subsequent replacement with the Ohio license plate, occurred during the early daylight hours on Monday.
No suspect information was available Tuesday, and police are still investigating the incident.

That's a switch! Usually it's the other way around -- OSU fans are so hostile that I know grown men who have resorted to stealing Ohio plates when they go down to Michigan games. They learned the hard way, after having several vehicles vandalized to the tune of a thousand-dollars-plus. Then there was the U of M doctor living down in Columbus for a while. Neighbors told him to get Ohio plates -- "But I live in Michigan!" "Doesn't matter! At the very least, plaster your car with OSU stickers!" But I'm not a football fan!" ******* Some folks just don't get it. Me, I stay home!

I guess I would have thought my car was stolen, so many cars look a like now days. So I look for my car by plate. Personal plate helps in this case.

I hope they called the FBI CIA and DOD. This crime of the century needs to be solved now.

My question to the thief. What's the point?? I find it highly unlikely that any owner will not notice that their license plate is suddenly from a different state....

Oh, the horror. Wake up people! This is the tipping point, this is the beginning of the end of civilization as we know it. How could they sink so low? Thank goodness my children are too young to read.

So weird...good thing the motorist caught it before getting in the car and driving, before getting felony-stopped by the police for thinking it was a stolen car!

couple things here... washtenaw county sheriff department? "...motorist was preparing to leave campus..."? doesn't wcc have a public safety/campus security department? map clearly pin marks e.huron river drive and clearly shows where wcc campus is...why the discrepancy? thirdly, i reported a michigan license plate stolen about 15 years ago at wcc. i was told they would record it and "to get a replacement". replacements, last i checked were $5. (i did just put my renewal sticker on too) why all the involvement now?

1. The plate was replaced with another, possibly stolen also 2. Possible criminal involvement requires law enforcement, not PSO's
