Police: 17-year-old girl groped outside Ann Arbor bar

By Kyle Feldscher

A 17-year-old girl was groped by an unknown man outside of a bar in downtown Ann Arbor early Sunday while she was talking to another man, Ann Arbor police said.

The incident was reported at 2:05 a.m. Sunday outside Good Time Charley’s at the corner of South University Avenue and Church Street. Police said the girl was talking to a man when a stranger approached her.

Police said the man grabbed the teen’s crotch over her pants and then walked away.

No suspect description was immediately available Monday afternoon. However, police are waiting to review video footage of the incident from Good Time Charley’s that may help identify the man.

Police said the incident happened outside the bar and it was not immediately known if the 17-year-old girl had been inside at any point during the night.

Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call the Ann Arbor police anonymous tip line at 734-794-6939.

sadly, the world can be a dangerous place for a young woman...especially outside a bar after last call. Note: I'M NOT BLAMING THE VICTIM

The unasked question here is "what was a minor was doing outside at 2am, period, let alone outside a bar at closing." She isn't a woman, as the article called her. She is under 17, and, therefore, a minor--a girl. Someone was contributing to the delinquency of a minor, here. That is a totally legitimate direction for the reporting to take, and asking that question is entirely legitimate on the part of readers discussing the story.

Especially a 17 year old.
