Three laptops and backpack stolen from U-M library
Three larcenies in the Hatcher Graduate Library were reported within 45 minutes of each other Sunday night, with another taking place early Monday, according to police.
Three laptops and an unattended backpack were reported stolen from study areas, according to the University of Michigan Department of Public Safety.
The first unattended laptop was reported stolen at 6:27 Sunday from a sixth-floor study area. The second laptop was reported stolen at 7:03 p.m. Sunday from a third-floor study area.
A backpack was reported stolen at 7:09 p.m. Sunday from a sixth-floor study area.
The third laptop was reported stolen at 12:42 a.m. Monday from a study area in the library, according to police. The floor that the study area was on was not available Monday afternoon.
All of the stolen items were left unattended by their owners, according to police.
U-M police spokeswoman Diane Brown said more information on the larcenies was not available Monday, and it’s unknown if the incidents are related.

I am really sorry to the students for their losses but they need to realize that you just cannot up and walk away from your belongings! If you have to go get a book it might be a good idea to have a buddy with you to watch your "stuff."
