A Sept. 24 trial date was set for Kenneth Rooks, 25, in the Washtenaw County Trial Court Monday.

The Oak Park man is accused of murder in the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Jonathon Claude Rollins at an Ypsilanti apartment last December.

Rooks faces an open murder charge, possessing a firearm while being a felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony for the incident, which reportedly occurred inside a South Prospect Street apartment after an argument.

Rollins was shot at least twice in the upper body with a handgun.

I'm just waiting for people to asking why it makes a difference that he was from Oak Park? That seems to be the case every time the perp is from Ypsi and the crime is in AA.

I wonder if he purchased the firearms legally? Criminals are not affected by Government Regulations only, non criminals have to deal with all of that stuff. Good luck getting the left to agree.....they are to busy wanting to regulate us law abiding citizens.

Might Mr. Rooks not be lodged in the Washtenaw County Jail?
