Dense fog advisory issued for Ann Arbor area

By Cindy Heflin

The National Weather Service warns motorists to slow down this morning as fog severely limits visibilities in some areas.

The weather service has issued a dense fog advisory that’s in effect until 11 a.m. Conditions are expected to improve by early afternoon.

Visibility will drop to less than a quarter of a mile or less in many areas, forecasters said. The weather service warned motorists to drive with caution and leave plenty of stopping distance between vehicles.

For the rest of the day, forecasters expect steady or slowly falling temperatures after a high of 44 to 48. Rain will persist through mid-afternoon. Snow is expected later in the day. Tonight it will be cloudy with a chance of snow showers. Lows will drop to 16 to 20. Little or no snow accumulation is expected.
