Last week for Ann Arbor's discounted compost carts is this week
The last day for ordering a discounted compost cart through the city is Friday.
Through 5 p.m. Friday, residents can pay a one-time fee of $25 for the pre-paid cart which will be home delivered by mid-September. The carts are in sizes of 32-,64- or 96-gallon carts.
Additional carts can be ordered for the same address for $50 each.
Those interested in ordering the carts can do so at www.A2gov.org/compost (and add the payment to the next water bill) or place an order in person or by phone to the Customer Service & Payment Center, 220 E. Huron in Ann Arbor, during weekday business. They may also order a cart by calling 734-994-7336, ext. 0.
The carts can be filled with paper yard waste bags for collecting and transporting yard debris to the curb for weekly, seasonal pickup and to help handle fall leaves. Cart
ordering information is posted online.
This is the first year fall leaf collections have been replaced by a weekly compost pickup. More information on the change is posted at www.a2gov.org/leaves.
