Brianna Amat doesn’t see her game-winning field goal kick at her school’s homecoming game Sept. 30 as a big deal. But others do.

Amat, who kicked the field goal after being crowned Pinckney High School’s homecoming queen at halftime, has been featured in USA Today, the New York Times and hundreds other media outlets. Last week, Glamour magazine honored her, along with 20 other women under 25, with the Young Amazing award at Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Daily Press & Argus reported.

Amat told the newspaper she felt humbled by the accomplishments of the other honorees, but they saw her achievement on the male-dominated gridiron as ground breaking for women.
