Man jailed after threatening Ypsilanti resident with a knife

Ypsilanti police arrested a 41-year-old man early Saturday after they said he threatened a resident with a knife.

Officers were dispatched shortly before 2 a.m. to the 1200 block of Monroe Avenue on the city’s southwest side. They located the suspect a block away from the victim’s residence.

There were no injuries reported.

Officers recovered evidence at the scene.

The suspect was taken to the Washtenaw County Jail. Police referred the case to prosecutors for possible felonious assault charges.
