Man dies from injuries suffered in motorcycle crash on I-94
Editor's note: The following story has been updated with new information about the crash. Also, the first name of the accident victim has been corrected.
A Gregory man died following a motorcycle crash on I-94 at Zeeb Road Wednesday afternoon, state police said today.
Ronald Dale Twigg suffered a severe neck injury when he attempted to exit from the westbound lanes of the freeway at the ramp to Zeeb Road about 4 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
The motorcycle was traveling too fast, and Twigg lost control of the bike, said Trooper Nolan Przybylo with the Ypsilanti Post of the Michigan State Police.
The motorcycle flipped several times, throwing Twigg off, police said, and landing in a ditch along the ramp. He was taken to the University of Michigan Hospital, where he was later declared dead, police said..
Twigg was wearing a helmet but it came off in the crash, Przybylo said.
The freeway was closed for several hours for the crash investigation, Washtenaw County sheriff's officials said.

My post was in reference to the one made at 10:06 am, and the likelihood of similar posts to follow. I don't think friends, family, or others with a sense of dignity and respect need to see such insensitive remarks. I am surprised that comment is still up.

Why? While I assume the motivation for your statement was positive, to encourage the foreclosure of comments on this story by others is presumptuous. There may be others who might want to express their condolences, who might want to recount comforting memories of the deceased, or who might choose to express their grief on this forum. Why would you want to prevent them from doing so by having the thread close?

Michigan Basic Speed Law states that no matter what the speed limit, you must drive at a safe speed according to road and weather conditions.

BTW how do they know he was going too fast. Unless I saw him I wouldn't know.

May he recover and may he learn the lesson, though the hard way, not to speed so much especially on exit and entry ramps.

I was wondering why all the ambulances along the Zeeb road exit until I saw this guy's bike in the ditch. Best wishes to him for full recovery.
