Family members, friends and colleagues of Sujal Parikh, a fourth-year University of Michigan medical student who died last month while doing AIDS research in Uganda, will gather on Sunday to remember him.
A memorial service to celebrate and honor Parikh's life is scheduled for 2 p.m. Nov. 14 in the U-M Rackham School of Graduate Studies Auditorium, 915 E. Washington St. It will be followed by a reception.

Parikh, a 25-year-old U-M Medical School student, died Oct. 12 from injuries suffered in a motorcycle taxi accident in Kampala, Uganda.
Parking for the memorial is available in the Thayer, Fletcher and Palmer parking structures. Memorial attendees should tell parking attendants they will be at the memorial to avoid paying special event parking fees.
A Sujal Parikh Memorial Fund has been established. Donations will help support medical student scholarships and broader global educational initiatives focusing on global health disparities and social justice issues that Sujal was most passionate about, according to Elizabeth Petty, U-M associate dean of medical school education.

I feel we have lost a beautiful light here on earth. My wishes for peace and healing to his family, friends and those who remember him as he crossed their path.

very sad that their are no comments concerning this brilliant selfless person yet over a hundred comments about a deceased drug dealer.
