Michigan Chamber endorses Mary Kay Thayer in 55th District state House race
The Michigan Chamber of Commerce today announced its endorsement of Republican Mary Kay Thayer in the 55th District state House race.

Mary Kay Thayer
The chamber is a statewide business organization representing about 6,800 employers, trade associations and local chambers of commerce.
Thayer is seeking to replace state Rep. Kathy Angerer, D-Dundee, who is term-limited from running again.
The 55th District includes parts of Washtenaw County's Pittsfield Township, Saline Township and York Township. Click here to view a map of the district.
Thayer said in a statement she's proud to have the support of the Michigan Chamber and all of the local businesses it represents.
“We can’t expect to bring jobs to Michigan as long as we are punishing Michigan job providers," she said. "That is why one of my top priorities is to repeal the Michigan Business Tax surcharge. We have put a double tax on job providers and this must end."
Thayer and her husband Jack reside in Monroe County's Bedford Township where they own and operate Thayer Consulting Inc., an engineering consulting firm.
They have two adult daughters and five grandchildren.
Thayer faces off against fellow Republicans Rick Olson, Frank Chrzanowski and Andrew Sosnoski in the Aug. 3 primary. The winner faces Democrat Mike Smith in November.
