Portion of Six Mile Road in Salem Township to be closed beginning Wednesday

By Lisa Allmendinger

Six Mile Road between Napier and Chubb roads in Salem Township is expected to be closed from Wednesday through April 6 to place temporary pavement on the road.

According to information from the Washtenaw County Road Commission, beginning Wednesday morning, that piece of Six Mile Road will be closed to all traffic except emergency vehicles and residents that live on that section of road.

The posted detour is Napier Road to Five Mile Road to Chubb Road.

This closure is expected to remain in effect until the the afternoon of April 6.

All road work is weather dependent so these dates are tentative, according to Road Commission officials.

Today sunny and warm. All signs in place, to detour off 6-mile. But no work being done.
