Portions of Parker, Wagner roads in Scio Township will be repaved starting Tuesday

By Lisa Allmendinger

The Washtenaw County Road Commission will begin paving Parker Road between Jackson Road and Dexter-Chelsea Road and Wagner Road between Jackson Road and I-94 and I-94 to Miller Road in Scio Township on Tuesday.

The work on the projects is expected to take about five business days, depending on the weather.

During the daytime paving, traffic will be restricted to one lane with flagmen.

Access for residents, businesses and deliveries will be maintained; however, delays are likely, according to information provided by the Road Commission.

@Nacho .... agreed. I'm still trying to figure out how Dexter-Pinckney Rd. warranted resurfacing while there are other area roads that are much more in need ... Shield being one of them. I was on Dexter-Townhall Rd. a few weeks ago north of N. Territorial and it was terrible.

"Wagner Road between Jackson Road and I-94 and I-94 to Miller Road ..." Why not just write "between Jackson Road and Miller Road"? It took me a few moments to figure this out. I suppose it's because they won't actually be paving the overpass, but that seems unnecessarily pedantic.

While they are there, they need to hit Shield Road. It is a major artery to the school and is in way more dire need of repaving than Dexter Pinckney was. It's starting to seem like they are just paving for the sake of finding something to do instead of doing things that need to be done.

Yes! Parker Road has been terrible in that area for quite some time. Glad to see it getting repaved - I hope it is the entire stretch between Jackson Road and at least the High School.
