Car crashes through cemetery fence after driver suffers medical problem
A car crashed through a fence at Oakwood Cemetery and ran into a utility pole in Saline Monday morning after its driver suffered what appeared to be some kind of medical emergency.
A woman was driving west on Michigan Avenue at 9:10 a.m. when her car veered across the eastbound lanes, went up a hill, crashed through the fence and struck the pole, Saline Fire Chief Craig Hoeft said.
The impact tore out one of the pole’s support wires, Hoeft said.
Her foot was still on the accelerator when firefighters arrived, causing the wheels to spin in the grass and one of the tires to begin smoking, Hoeft said.
The woman suffered only minor injuries in the crash but was taken to St. Joseph Mercy Saline Hospital for evaluation and treatment of her medical condition, Hoeft said. Her vital signs were strong, but she was semi-conscious and unresponsive at the crash scene, Hoeft said.

Best wishes - glad no one else was in the path. There is quite a hill there so I am glad no greater injuries were sustained.
