The Salvation Army of Washtenaw County accepting applications for holiday help Tuesday-Thursday

The Salvation Army of Washtenaw County will host sign-ups for its 2011 Christmas assistance program Tuesday through Thursday.

“The Salvation Army’s holiday assistance program is here to help bring Christmas to those in need,” TSA-WC Coordinator Maj. John Williams said in a statement. “As people continue to struggle with limited resources, we expect our demand for assistance will increase again this year.”

Washtenaw County residents in need of assistance this Christmas can apply at either of TSA-WC’s two corps community centers at 100 Arbana Drive in Ann Arbor and 9 South Park St. in Ypsilanti.

The times are as follows:

Tuesday, Oct. 25

  • Ypsilanti Corps: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 26

  • Ann Arbor Corps: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Ypsilanti Corps: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 27

  • Ann Arbor Corps: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Ypsilanti Corps: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In order to apply, residents are required to provide current identification for all household adults, proof of residence and two items to show proof of dependents such as birth certificates or social security cards, according to a news release.
