Tree limbs on electric line knock out power in Ann Arbor
Tree limbs on a power line caused a power outage on the south side of Ann Arbor Wednesday morning, a DTE Energy spokesman said.
Power went off about 9:30 a.m. but had already been restored by 10:45 a.m., said spokesman Alejandro Bodipo-Memba. He was not sure what had caused the limbs to come down.
About 1,600 customers were affected, according to the DTE Energy Power Outage Map.
Power outage areas are shown in orange and purple on the map.

So I gather that even tree limbs causing power outages are the fault of us liberals. Sorry, but we have scheduled a thunderstorm this weekend too. Oh, and if a meteor hits, that was us too. Sheeesh!

Sheesh indeed! The refrain that the world would be a perfect place if public funds for art were redirected to the problem of the moment does get tedious, doesn't it? In our area just outside Ann Arbor, DTE monitors and removes overhanging tree limbs.

Some are still coming on so the spokesperson wasn't very correct. The outage map still lists about 1500 without and says reason is "Outage due to an auto-protection device."

Mine just came back on. Maybe some of that "peoples art" money could be used to trim all the dead branches still remaining after last year's drought.
