Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies arrest 5 during prostitution sting

Four women and a man were arrested during a prostitution sting Tuesday morning in Ypsilanti Township, Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies said.
Investigators were approached for sexual acts on East Michigan Avenue, a sheriff's department incident summary said.
A 38-year-old man from Ypsilanti Township is expected to be arraigned today on charges of pimping and prostitution, the summary said.
Expected to be arraigned today on charges of prostitution are three women from Ypsilanti Township - ages 51, 39 and 23 - and a 34-year-old woman from Whitmore Lake, the summary said.
Detectives conducted the sting after residents in the area complained about the problem.

I agree, you can take the prostitues off the streets but the same men-or women-will be out there still looking for someone else to take their place. Some cities take pictures of the licenseplates of the customers and people and put them in the paper. Sometimes they even impound their cars. Talk about a deterrant, would you want to see your car in the paper or have it impounded and have to explain that when you get home? Something has to be done. Was the woman who was hit and killed one of "those women?" I am sure I am not the only person who was thinking it.

Still aresting the women? Oh, well yes, you got a pimp this time. What about their clientele. Start strutting those out in public...now that's a deterrent.

Hi ypsigirl, In Washtenaw County, many police agencies, including the sheriff's department, generally do not release names of people until they are charged and make an initial appearance in court. I don't know whether these people were arraigned yet. I didn't attend Wednesday's arraignments at the sheriff's department, which are televised in the lobby. I'll see what I can find out. Thanks.

Since my comments are being deleted, is there anyway to find out who the people arrested were? Annarbor.com is obviously whitewashing what is seen here. Big brother is watching us.

"A 38-year-old man from Ypsilanti Township is expected to be arraigned today on charges of pimping and prostitution." Lets see if post number three on this story doesn't get censored. Apparently it is o.k. to post about someone and their age but when you refer to a statement pulled from the article about a 38 year old male who pimps as well as prostitutes then it is a forbidden subject!
