Water main work may cause traffic tie-ups on Washtenaw Avenue in Ann Arbor
You may be wise to avoid Washtenaw Avenue in Ann Arbor for the next two weeks, starting Monday.
The city says one lane of traffic will be closed in each direction for about two weeks for the Washtenaw Avenue water main replacement project.
The project limits are from the Midas Auto Service Center on Washtenaw Avenue to US-23, the city says. The majority of the work will be within the service drive, except for the areas near the Huron Parkway intersection and the Arborland entrance.
To continue providing safe drinking water to that area, the city began replacing the existing water main along Washtenaw Avenue on July 20, a city press release says.
Work will continue through October. This project, as well as other road or lane closures, can be found online.
