Weinblatt video released; 30-second edited version shows peeping incident
Previous story: Weinblatt in police report: 'I don't look in people's windows'
An edited version of an iPad video showing Howard Weinblatt watching his 12-year-old neighbor was published late Thursday by the Detroit Free Press.
The 30-second video is part of a 2-minute recording on an iPad by the mother of the victim. It was used as evidence in the criminal case again the Ann Arbor physician.
Weinblatt pleaded no contest this week to one count of surveilling an unclothed person and he faces up to two years in prison.
More details on the case were also released this week.

Of course the defendant says he's shocked by the allegations. All pedophiles deny culpability. His computer had child porn images on it. He was in a profession that gave him access to children, alone and without their clothes on. What more did he need? If the mother didn't videotape him watching out of his window while her daughter changed her clothes, he would still be committing these crimes.

Hey, I totally agree with @Barb...really disturbing psychological disturbance, this sort of thing.

Not only do they deny culpability, they really think what they're doing isn't wrong. It's a crazy illness.

enough is enough. story is getting stale. looking out your window in your own home is something else. if they found stuff on his computer that is another thing. i would like to know who does not look out the window. if i want privacy i shut the blinds. not saying what he did is right but if it based on looking out your own window? on the computer is a complete another story. let it die now.

When you're looking out your window do you keep your underwear on? And your hands above your waist?

@Mort: The 2 minute video (only 30 seconds here) shows the convicted felon masturbating, while looking out the window, at a 12-year old girl. I don't think he is looking at the squirrels, the cardinals, or the siding on the house while he is pleasuring himself.

If he was innocent, why did he not fight it? Why did they find 60-100 or more images of child abuse (yes, it's abuse) on his computer? IF you don't get it by now, you never will.

I thought the aa.com was all over this story like a glove? So how did an "outside" newspaper beat you to the punch getting this video?

Hey- what Annarbor.com lacks in reputability it makes up for in having ".com" in its name. When I pick up a copy of the New York Time or the Free Press I am forced to wonder if these papers have an online presence. Not so with Annarbor.com! Thank you guys for shortcutting that process and keeping America free!

Ah, right, Detroit used to support two whole newspapers, and now the area is served by really, corporate-identity-wise (and that's the only identity that counts these days ;-) ), one outfit. And also they scoop anything more local on local issues too ;-) Because more local outfits really only serve as business-booster outlet for whomever, no more 'journalism' folks! But maybe AA.com was actually not covering the local possible-pedophile scandal too deeply, and instead working hard to get some 'exclusives' with Obama in town!! Perhaps we'll see a piece by Bomney or Gardner on Obama's opinions about, I dunno, the UM venture-capital generator or about local real estate prices seeming to be rebounding, you know, something essentially business-booster-y :-) Sitting presidents ought to be good for this type of piece, no?!

Good point. I wonder if that window was "frosted" when he moved in or if it just gradually became that way?

Except when you got to it and found that it really wasn't "frosted" after all ...

Truly creepy. I hope the defendant gets what he deserves. I do have to question the motives of the prosecutors here. What is to be gained by releasing this? I would assume recognition for some aspiring prosecutor but I don't see any names.
